Anoka County is now one of only 14 counties in Minnesota to have the “Storm Ready” designation from the National Weather Service.
LEVY VOTES ON THE BALLOT
In addition to Governor, Senators, and several local races on ballots this fall, voters in the Centennial School District will also see two levy questions. The district is asking voters to support both an operational levy and a capital levy that they say will set them up for the next decade.
BLAINE SEEKS RESIDENT INPUT ON TRAIL SYSTEM
Blaine is asking for resident input on the trail system, as it works on its visioning plan for the future of the park and trail system.
SPRING LAKE PARK SCHOOLS IMPLEMENT NEW VISITOR SYSTEM
Spring Lake Park Schools implemented the Raptor Visitor Management system, which checks each visitor’s name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders.
NATIONAL SPORTS CENTER WANTS TO ADD DOME
The proposed location of the domed facility is on the I fields which are north of 105th Avenue. The National Sports Center is known for setting a new standard with their facilities and this would be no different. The proposed height of the dome is 110 feet tall.
EARLY VOTING IS NOW OPEN
Absentee voting, or early voting, is now open. All registered voters can vote in person at the county elections office, and every city hall in Anoka County.
