A NEW SENIOR CENTER IN THE WORKS FOR BLAINE
The City of Blaine has been talking about replacing the senior center for a long time. On May 3, the city council held a public hearing, where they voted to use an existing funding source to pay for a new senior center.

The nationwide E. coli outbreak stemming from romaine lettuce has infected at least ten people in Minnesota.

BLACK BEARS MOVING IN METRO AREA
In the last few days, there have been several black bear sightings across the north metro. A bear was reported in Andover, and there were two sightings in Mounds View.
LINO LAKES TRIES TO CURB DRUNK DRIVING
Minnesota typically sees about 25,000 drunk driving arrests in a year, and about 100 deaths due to impaired driving. The Lino Lakes Public Safety Department is trying to reduce drunk driving incidents in the city.
POLICE CONCERNED ABOUT PEDESTRIAN SAFETY
On April 24 a pedestrian was hit and killed at the intersection of 85th Avenue and University Avenue. That intersection has police concerned as it is a high foot traffic area mixed with a high speed roadway.
