On Saturday, June 1, community members from across the Allina Health service area are invited to join Allina Health employee volunteers to package 200,000 healthy meals for neighbors in need.

With boating season moving in to high gear this Memorial Day weekend, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is reminding boaters and anglers to be extra vigilant to help stop the spread of aquatic invasive species.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office is saddened by the devastation in Moore, Oklahoma brought on by the EF-4 tornado that touched down on May 20. On May 21 the National Sheriff’s Association sent out a nationwide notice that multiple employees of Oklahoma County, including some Deputies, either sustained serious damage to their homes or lost their homes completely.

The long-awaited arrival of warm weather means an increase in visits to local and state parks across Minnesota. One local company has decided to make these park visits even more enjoyable for families by volunteering their time after work hours to clean a Blaine park.

Sheriff James Stuart presented an Honorary Deputy Sheriff award to longtime Anoka County resident Stan Kowalski. Mr. Kowalski was honored for his long history of service – both to the nation and his community here in Minnesota.
