ELECTION NIGHT RECAP

On Election Day, Minnesotans cast more votes in a midterm election than ever before and as a result, there are changes coming to local city councils, school boards, the county board and our state government.

SMALL CITIES BRING BIG LIQUOR SALES TO ANOKA COUNTY

State numbers show north metro communities who have city-controlled liquor sales continue to make money despite their population.

MANY ANOKA COUNTY RESIDENTS ARE VOTING EARLY

As of this week, nearly 8 thousand (7,800) voters in Anoka County have already submitted an absentee ballot.

ANOKA COUNTY TACKLES HOMELESSNESS

The Compassion Action Network put together a forum with Anoka County, the YMCA, the Salvation Army, and the Heading Home Anoka Housing Collaborative, to talk about the realities of homeless.

ANOKA COUNTY APPROVES A TAX LEVY INCREASE

Facing rising costs related to public safety and employees, the Anoka County Board Tuesday approved a preliminary property tax levy increase of 4.94 percent.

ANOKA COUNTY IS CERTIFIED STORM READY

Anoka County is now one of only 14 counties in Minnesota to have the “Storm Ready” designation from the National Weather Service.

EARLY VOTING IS NOW OPEN

Absentee voting, or early voting, is now open. All registered voters can vote in person at the county elections office, and every city hall in Anoka County.

MNDOT BEGINS STUDY ON HIGHWAY 65

MnDOT has begun a study of the Highway 65 corridor. Anoka County and Blaine have each committed $100,000 to the study.
