BLAINE WETLAND RESTORATION TO CONTINUE
Last week the Blaine City Council passed a resolution committing the city to continuing the existing wetland restoration plan at the Blaine Wetland Sanctuary. That plan calls for the removal of non-native species from the large open space including more trees.
A NEW SENIOR CENTER IN THE WORKS FOR BLAINE
The City of Blaine has been talking about replacing the senior center for a long time. On May 3, the city council held a public hearing, where they voted to use an existing funding source to pay for a new senior center.
POLICE CONCERNED ABOUT PEDESTRIAN SAFETY
On April 24 a pedestrian was hit and killed at the intersection of 85th Avenue and University Avenue. That intersection has police concerned as it is a high foot traffic area mixed with a high speed roadway.
PEDESTRIAN KILLED ON UNIVERSITY AVENUE
According to the police report, a 73-year-old male from Coon Rapids was driving southbound on University and struck the 51-year-old Minneapolis man.
