I am thrilled to announce that, this year, North Metro TV Public Access has won three Telly Awards! The Telly Awards are the premier award for stations of our size and recognize the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. Our video series was chosen from a pool of 13,000 entries, representing all 50 states and five different continents. Winning a Telly is a distinct honor and I hope you are as proud as I am.
As I said, we won three Telly Awards this year.
The first Telly was awarded in the Student Productions category and was for the “Why Ruin Someone’s Day When You Can Make It?” public service announcement produced by myself and the students of Centennial’s Pines School. Those students included Amanda, Katerina, Collin, Jonathan, Tyler, Jaydin, Nick, Richard, Aidan, Wyatt, Tyler, Mike, Cathey, Matt, Andre, Kirstin, Trinity, Jayden, Richard, Bianca, Matthew, and Justice. We were aided by their teachers Lisa and Shannon.
And, as if winning weren’t honor enough, we were actually awarded a Silver Telly in this category, with Silver Telly Awards being reserved for the best of the best!
The second Telly was in the How-To/Instructional Category and was awarded to “North Metro TV Tips and Tricks – The Rule of Thirds”, meaning I get to share this particular honor with very talented and very deserving young volunteers: Mikayla Bode and Jake Russ. Way to go guys!
Finally, we also received a Telly in the Recruitment category for our work on the MN Fire Hire video series. These videos were produced by myself and Mike Schweigert of the Anoka County Firefighters. Joining us in winning this amazing award are associate producer Laurie Sigler, Rick Bostrom, Michele Kurak, Aaron Miles, Joe Scholz, Fran Sorensen, and Brett Wong.
Again, everyone involved in these videos did an amazing job and I’m so proud to be sharing this honor with all of them.
We expect to receive the three statuettes here at the station sometime in the next six to eight weeks.
