Circle Pines reached the 5,000 resident threshold in the 2020 Census, helping the small Anoka County city qualify for state aid road funding.

A Lino Lakes family is preparing for the return of the Minnesota State Fair this month.  They’ve run a food booth at 8 State Fairs as part of the family business, until the pandemic changed everything.

The idea is that an app will allow users to bring up enhanced content about a particular trail that will give information about historical, natural, and thematic features along the path.

As the charity marks its fourth year in a row of providing at least 1,000 donated and repaired bikes to organizations across Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota–and even as far away as African nations–its volunteer members also mourn the death of the long-time executive director earlier this summer.

Officials hope the fields can be expanded from hosting about 65 events a year, including football, soccer and lacrosse, to more than 245. At the same time they expect it will provide a consistent playing surface. 

The school board selected Prior Lake-Savage Schools Assistant Superintendent Jeffrey Holmberg as its interim superintendent.

The course will not close, according to a county spokesperson. It had faced an uncertain future after operations in the red in the years leading up to the pandemic, which seemingly changed everything.

Anoka County’s five license centers welcomed walk-in customers back for the first time in nearly 18 months earlier this summer.
