MENTAL HEALTH HAPPY HOUR IS COMING TO BLAINE

The Mental Wellness Campaign for Anoka County is bringing a new Happy Hour program to the area in 2018. Happy Hour will be introduced at a 10 Year Celebration and Fundraiser, Thursday, Jan. 18 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the TPC Twin Cities.

OLYMPIC TRIALS UNDERWAY IN BLAINE

Two people will be added to Team USA this weekend in Blaine. The Mixed Doubles Curling Olympic Trials are underway at Fogerty Arena.

OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING IN BLAINE

A Centennial Lakes Police officer fired a weapon while providing assistance to Blaine during a domestic assault call.

TARGET LOOKS TO ADD LIQUOR STORE IN BLAINE

Target recently acquired the rights to the liquor operation currently run by Tournament Liquor which is just across 109th Avenue from Target.

ART SHOW LOOKS FOR ENTRIES

The Blaine Arts Council is inviting photographers to enter their annual juried art show.

BLAINE GARBAGE RATES INCREASE

The city has a contract with Walters Recycling and Refuse for all residential garbage and recycling collection in the city. The contract has small increases built in each year.

HEROES AND HELPERS BRING GIFTS AND CHEER

On Tuesday afternoon, Blaine’s Super Target was full of students who were Christmas shopping with police officers and firefighters.

MEET BLAINE’S NEW POLICE CHIEF, BRIAN PODANY

Podany spent the last 20 years working for the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, now he is settling into his new role as the Blaine Police Chief.
